yogatown-main4It’s my first time, what do I do?
Arrive 20 minutes before the class and let the person know on the front desk that it’s your first time. They will take good care of you and ask you to complete a short health questionnaire.

What shall I wear?
Wear comfortable light clothing as for the hot classes you are likely to sweat! Women usually wear leggings or shorts with vest or crop tops. Men wear shorts with a t-shirt or vest.

What do I need to bring?
We provide yoga mats so please bring your own towel. Changing rooms are available where you can leave your personal belongings.

What if I am running late?
Please try to arrive early to every class; we advise at least 15 minutes. Each class begins promptly on time. Our studios have a 5 minute cut off policy. Students arriving after 5 minutes of class time will not be permitted into the yoga room.

What should I eat/drink before I come to the class?
We recommend that you refrain from eating for 2 hours before a class, but it’s a good idea to drink plenty of water right up until the start. We encourage you to bring water/a drink into the class with you so that you can stay hydrated throughout. A selection of drinks can be purchased from our reception. Working out on an empty stomach is not advised so please ensure you have a light snack at least 2 hours beforehand.

How often should I practice?
Going to hot yoga once a week is awesome and will make you feel calmer and less stressed but it won’t dramatically change your body. Going 3-4 times a week will aid weight loss, build strength, improve balance and flexibility creating relaxation to the body, peace to the mind and a smile to your face!

Where is the studio located?
Yogatown is located off Almond Brook Road next door to the Britannia Hotel, located behind Cafe Gazura. There is ample parking available alongside the hotel. We are based in the large building (234 Almond Brook Road, Standish WN6 0SS) next door the Antiques shop (our sign is above the door). Walk through the front door and make your way upstairs, we are on the right hand side.

I’m new to Yoga, what is the etiquette?
Here are a few guidelines to follow:

  • Please ensure you leave your shoes/personal belongings in the changing rooms as we have a no shoe policy in the studio.
  • Please ensure mobile phones are switched off during class and on silent in the reception area.
  • Please be considerate of others in the class and do not chat during practice.
  • Always listen to your body. Feel free to take a break any time you need to during class by sitting or lying quietly on your mat.
  • Please leave the room quietly after your class as some people use that time for quiet meditation.
